SHOOT HOUSE INSTRUCTORS COURSE

Dates: July 21-25, 2025

Times: 8am - 4pm each day

Course Description: This 5-day Live Fire Shoot House Instructors Course will provide students with the knowledge, information, safety protocols and competency they need to safely manage and conduct live-fire CQB shoot house training for Tactical / SWAT Team Officers.

The course will address the following major topics:

• 1-5 Officer Team CQB 
• Safe Shoot House Set Up
• Multi-Room CQB 
• Surgical Shooting 
• Multi-Team CQB
• Training Methodology 
• Multi-Breach Point CQB 
• Single Officer CQB
• NFDD Deployment 
• Medical Emergencies
• Target Selection
• Target Placement
• Simunitions Integration 

The course will focus on the safety fundamentals required to conduct this training. Students will be tested by written quizzes, participating in and conducting hands-on, live fire shoot house training sessions and scenarios. To pass the course, students must demonstrate their ability to manage, supervise and train fellow students in live fire CQB under instructor supervision. CSAT Master Shoot House Instructor Paul Howe will be the Lead Instructor for this training event. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a CSAT Shoot House Instructor Certificate. 

Prerequisites: This is an advanced tactics course, designed for Tactical / SWAT team firearms and use of force instructors, who will then return to their teams and conduct live fire shoot house training.

FBI Firearms Training Facility North Chicago IL.

$995.00 - current ITOA Members (dues paid this date or later in 2024)

$1,035.00 - non-members

Ammunition Requirement: Rifle Ball or Duty: 250Rds / Pistol Ball or Duty: 250Rds / Frangible Rifle Rounds: 200Rds / Frangible Pistol Rounds: 200Rds 

These are minimums – bring more if you can.

• Ballistic Vest 

• Duty Pistol Belt 

• Duty Pistol w/light & 3 Magazines 

• .223 or 5.56 Caliber Patrol Rifle w/sling & light & 3 Magazines

• Protective Impact Resistant Safety Glasses

• Sunscreen / Bug Repellant

• Hearing Protection 

• Ballistic Helmet

• Knee Pads

• Gloves

• Drop in Conversion Bolt for your rifle & 100rds of rifle marking rounds

• Glock 17T or Conversion Kit for your Pistol & 100rds of pistol marking rounds 

ITOA has a limited supply of Glock 17T’s and drop in bolts for your use during this course. 

• Water / Sport Drinks to Maintain Hydration

• Inclement Weather Gear 

• Note Taking Materiel & Writing Utensil for Classroom Sessions and Range Notes

• LUNCH – will be on-site each day – please bring a lunch each day

Lodging, Travel and Food: 

The course cost does not include ammunition, lodging, transportation and food. Attendees are responsible for their own ammunition, lodging, transportation and food each day.

Lodging – Suggested lodging locations include Gurnee IL. & Libertyville IL.

ITOA Refund Policy (effective from February 10, 2025)

The Illinois Tactical Officers Association (ITOA) refund policy for those who cancel their attendance at an ITOA paid event is as follows:

• A full refund will be issued if cancellation occurs at least 30 calendar days prior to the event. 
• If cancelled 7-29 calendar days prior to the event, a 50% refund will be issued.
• Cancellations less than 7 calendar days prior to the event will not be granted a refund.

Additionally, a registrant who does not attend the event for which they are registered will not receive a refund.
