Advanced Armorer Class

Location: Will County Sheriff's Dept.

Date: October 11-12, 2023

Times: 1000 hrs to 1800 hrs

State Certified in conjunction with NEMRT MTU #3

Mandates:

11 hours / Officer Safety Techniques

COURSE DESCRIPTION:  

For this two-day class, the student officer/deputy will have a Windham Arms factory AR-Carbine and tool kit provided for them at the class that allows for full disassembly. The class will engage in the take down, disassembly, reassembly, and functional review of this rifle system. Beyond the regular armorer issues of our basic class, the instruction will also include barrel removal and replacement, stock, buffer tube removal and replacement, and a full explanation of the lower receiver fire control group and upper receiver and component parts.

The loaner rifle and tool kits will be provided by our out of state instructors led by master armorer Greg Lee, who will be joining our training cadre.

The student can bring their own rifle/carbine for inspection and comparison but the class will use the factory rifles for the instructional issues.

OFFICERS WILL WORK IN TEAMS OF TWO ON A SINGLE RIFLE. Students will demonstrate their knowledge by teaching back to their teammate.
