The Illinois Tactical Officers Association is pleased to present this dynamic 4-hour presentation on the changes & impact HB 3653 SAFE-T Act  has on you as an individual officer and your agency.

(Amended May 31st by HB 3443 Senate Amendment #5)

The focus of the presentation will be on:

  • Use of Force 5/7-5 - Execution of Search Warrants
  • Tasers / Less-Lethal Impact Munitions / Chemical Munitions & Irritants / Chokeholds
  • Officer Prohibitions / Duty to Render Aid / Duty to Intervene / Officer Body-Worn Cameras.
  • What you MUST DO / MUST NOT DO
  • Tips for implementing change that aligns with national guidelines
  • Suggested training and training methods to best prepare your officers to meet the new mandates
  • Suggested Policy and Procedural modifications & addition

Upon completion of the presentation, attendees will be provided with a link on the ITOA website that will allow you to download all course materials, the power point presentation, and reference material categorizing Amendment #5. This material will be of great assistance in developing policy and training for your department.
