The Illinois Tactical Officers Association in cooperation with the Merrionette Park Police Department is pleased to offer this dynamic training opportunity:
Five Day (40hr) Rapid Deployment Instructor Course
Date: July 22 - 26, 2024
Time: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Merrionette Park, Illinois
PURPOSE OF COURSE: This five day, 40hr Instructor course has been designed to train officers as instructors to teach Rapid Deployment / Active Threat Response Techniques & Tactics. The focus of this program will be to provide officers with the knowledge, specialized tactical skills, and associated materials they will need to develop, implement, and teach Rapid Deployment. Each attendee will receive a thumb drive containing all teaching materials, power point presentations, supporting materials and written test.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Rapid Deployment – Active Threat Response is the swift and immediate deployment of law enforcement resources to an ongoing, life-threatening “Active Threat” type of situation.
These situations require immediate action and the rapid deployment of patrol officers. Failure to act could have catastrophic consequences resulting in death and/or great bodily harm to innocent people. These incidents may also necessitate the immediate and rapid deployment of patrol personnel to contain and prevent the escape of an armed and dangerous offender or rescue a downed officer and/or civilian.
COURSE PREREQUISITES: While not mandatory, it is suggested that departments enroll officers in this program that have previous instructor and/or tactical-related experience. It is also very helpful if the students have completed a basic level Rapid Deployment Course. This is a dynamic, fast-paced course geared towards officers who already have a basic knowledge of firearms handling/deployment and patrol tactics.
ATTENDANCE POLICY: No more than 10% of class time, or 4 hours, may be missed. It is strongly suggested that students missing any time contact the instructor in advance and make suitable arrangements to pick up and/or review missed materials or information presented.
Course Costs:
$895.00 for ITOA Members
$935.00 for non-members, includes your 1-year ITOA membership
