The Illinois Tactical Officers Association in cooperation with the Rosemont Public Safety Department is proud to present this highly anticipated, special full day return engagement - spending the day with:

    NICK “The MACHINE” LAVERY

Date: June 19, 2024

Times: 9:30am – 3:30pm

Location: Donald E. Stephens Convention Center

5555 North River Road, Rosemont IL. 60018

After Nick’s 2.5-hour presentation at the 2023 ITOA Training Conference, we were inundated with requests to have Nick return for a full day presentation. The requests were so overwhelming that we reached out to Nick and he agreed to come back and build on where he left off!

For those who did not see him at the conference in 2023, he will again talk about his injury, recovery, and his incredible journey to becoming the first Special Forces Green Beret to return to combat as an above knee amputee (check out Nick’s BIO below). Additionally, Nick will then get into a multitude of other topic areas to include:

Resilience, overcoming obstacles, positive mind set and obtaining a winning edge. Nick will spend a considerable amount of time on leadership, how to be an effective, dynamic leader and the successes you will have following time-tested leadership principles and traits. He will finish up the day specifically talking about missions, steps before, during and after. The lessons learned and the changes we can all make to be more successful and victorious in all we do.

After the presentations are complete, Nick will then be available to meet / greet attendees, sign your book and take a picture for those who would like to stick around.

A limited number of copies of Nick’s bestselling book, “Objective Secure” – The Battle Tested Guide to Goal Achievement, will be for sale at this event, or you can get your copy prior to the event on Amazon.

BIO:

Chief Warrant Officer Nick Lavery is an active-duty member of The United States Army Special Forces - the famous Green Berets. In 2013, while deployed to Afghanistan, he and his Detachment fell victim to an insider attack ultimately resulting in the loss of his leg. Following a year of surgeries and initial recovery, he returned to his unit. Refusing a military medical retirement, Nick set his sights on returning to operational status.

In 2015, he returned to his Detachment and was subsequently deployed once again to Afghanistan conducting full spectrum combat operations. Nick is considered the first Special Forces operator to return to combat as an above-the-knee amputee.

Nick is widely recognized as an experienced subject matter expert in special operations, intelligence fusion, mission planning and complex problem solving across all operational continuums. He is the first amputee in military history to complete the Special Forces Warrant Officer Technical and Tactical Certification course, the Special Operations Combatives Program Instructor course, and the Special Forces Combat Diver Qualification course.

Nick’s awards include the Silver Star, three Purple Hearts, two Bronze Stars, Bronze Star with “V” for valor, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, two Meritorious Service Medals, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal, the OSS Society Peter Ortiz Award, the Bruce Price Leadership Award, and the Special Operations Command Excalibur Award.

Nick is a warrior, leader, speaker, author and most importantly a husband and father of two young boys.
