COURSE DESCRIPTION: This three-day, 24-hour course has been designed to enhance Police Officer’s ability to conduct Immediate Action CQB in critical life and death Active Threat Situations when Patrol Officers and Street Supervisors must act IMMEDIATELY to save lives.
The course is designed to enhance the basic skill sets of officers who are already trained and are proficient at Rapid Deployment skill sets. The course will specifically cover; movement to contact, manual breaching, room entries, and CQB. Attendees will be challenged with realistic paper targets& Live Breaching on day one and live role players in scenarios on day two. The course will culminate with the attendees participating in live fire CQB & Live Breaching in a live fire shoot house training facility on day three.
This IS NOT a beginner’s course – please do not send those who don’t have the prerequisites.
COURSE PREREQUISITES:
- This course is only open to sworn officers/supervisors who have been trained and are proficient in basic Rapid Deployment / Active Treat Response Skill Sets.
- Course participants must also be proficient with their pistols & rifles above the basic level. Graduates of the ITOA two-day tac pistol/rifle course have a similar level of firearms training that can be verified with a certificate or your department’s firearms training supervisors’ confirmation.
- Course participants should be capable of operating in physically challenging situations and be required to run, sprint, kneel, crawl, negotiate simple obstacles and perform police tactical skills.
The course requires every attendee to be equipped with a converted patrol rifle and pistol that shoot marking cartridges. A limited supply of converted pistols and AR15 drop-in bolts will be available for those that do not have their own converted weapons. Officers must bring a minimum of 200 rifle & 100 pistol marking rounds (any color) for the scenarios. Officers should also bring protective mask and neck protection if available. ITOA can supply protective gear. Acceptable marking rounds are force-on-force, UTM or Simunitions.
Officers must also have 350 rds. of live rifle ammo & 150 rds. of live pistol ammo.
