This presentation will cover events that happened on December 8, 2006 at 500 W. Madison in Chicago, Illinois. The incident started when Mr. Joe Jackson attempted to gain entry to the Citigroup Center building but was refused by building security. A few hours later, Jackson returned in a work uniform and, at gun point, forced a security guard to take him to the 38th floor. Arriving at the 38th floor, Jackson shot and killed three people and wounded one other. This debrief will detail the response of the Chicago Police Department’s 1st District personnel and the subsequent conclusion of the incident by the Chicago Police Department’s SWAT Team.
